Sam will be travelling this August to Aberdeen, Maryland USA, to represent Australia in the Cal Ripken World Series event.
Cal Ripken World Series is a week long junior baseball tournament bringing the 10 best teams from regions across the United States to compete against international teams from Australia, Canada, Dominican Republic, Japan, Mexico and the Republic of Korea.
Many previous Cal Ripken representatives have gone on to play for Australia at higher levels, with eighteen former players having since embarked on professional baseball careers.
Sam started playing baseball with the Macquarie Saints at 5 years of age in the U7’s and has continued through our junior ranks to U12A & U14A Grade teams. In recent years he has also represented Ryde Hornsby Baseball League in U12 State Cup and U14 Development Leagues.
Particular thanks to Sam’s pitching coach and long time club mentor Steve Sims, who along with Sam’s family has supported his baseball progress over the years.
Well done Sam and best wishes with the coming World Series !
